Florida time with the fam

I arrived in Florida two days ago.  I'm staying here for a week with my family in a house with two other families. One family are family friends, but the other family is our family friends, family friends :P  The first family has three boys, 9, 10, and 13.  The other family has two babies, a boy and a girl.  There is also three extra adults here, family friends father and brother, and other families friend.  I am the only girl other than the 6 month old baby.  There are the three boys in the one family, the toddler, and my 9 year-old brother.  Luckily there is one person here close to my age, the 13 year-old boy.  I am also 13, but we have not seen eachother since we were 6 or 7 and I'm sure you know how awkward it is for a teenage boy and teenage girl to talk when they barely know eachother.  So I've been bored out of my mind.  It will be nice once I can lay out in the sun, but two days ago we spent almost the whole day travelling so we didn't arrive at the house until 5 o'clock.  And yesterday it was pouring rain so laying out in the sun was kind of impossible.  I went to my first NHL game yesterday though.  I have been to hockey games before, but just minor league games as we have a really good team in Halifax.  But last night we went to a Tampa Bay Lighting (as we are staying in Tampa) and Vancouver Canucks game.  It was so exciting.  We were one of the few Vancouver fans, all of the almost 20 of us that went from the house, but it was still fun.  Lighting beat the Canucks 3-4 so it was a very exciting game.  When the announcer was saying who scored one of the Canucks goals someone yelled out "Wgo cares?", I laughed.  It's really funny being on the opposing side.  Usually we are at the game where our team is the home team.  The arena was amazing.  Much nicer than the metro centre.  It was all glass on one side and there was a huge pipe organ.  And there was also these two really cool lighting machines that would go off whenever Tampa scored or they were coming on the ice.  It made purple lighting, it was kind of terrifying actually, it could have shocked someone!  But there were these chains on either side so the lighting would hit the chains instead of people :/  But I would still be scared it would go past the chains into the crowd.  Oh well, it was such I fun night.  I just wish it wasn't raining all day.  The drive to the arena was actually kind of terrifying.  It was pouring rain so you could hardly see, the arena was over an hour away so we had a lond drive, and on the highways in Florida!  There were huge trucks all over the highway going way too fast so they would spray you with water and you would be completely blind.  We missed an exit too!  Luckily there was a turn around point right after the exit so we turned around and were able to take the exit.  We were following the car of someone staying a the house with us who had lived in Florida before, so he knew where we were going.  But it was the car and then three vans of people, our van was the only one with a GPS and we were right behind the car, but it was so hard to stay with everyone in the rain on the highway, so I kept thinking people wouldn't take an exit or something and they would be completely lost without a GPS.  But we all made there and back ok, I think some of us were permanently scarred from that terrifying drive, but those are minor details.  But back to the boy my age.  His name is Will, he's 13, and really cute.  I think I like him, but I don't know if he likes me...  I haven't been to pretty the last couple days anyways.  The weather in Florida is horrible for my curly hair.  It's so humid that it makes my hair super frizzy and hard to tame.  It's also so salty... Everywhere.... That my hair is never soft and it's really hard to do anything with because it just stays in one place.

Don't Play With Dolls #2

Here is a bit more from my story Don't Play With Dolls (i have already written some so find that post before you read this or you wont know what is going on).  PS that post is called Don't Play With Dolls (since that is the name of the story).

We don't say another word the entire ride to Jessica's.  Ean has always been shy and quiet, it's king of cute actually.  When he first moved here last year he was kind of treated like he was the new, ugly, nerdy kid with glasses and braces, but now he has lots of "female" followers, me, Jessica and a few other friends.  This year he is even thinking about trying out for our school football team.  He may be rather fit but i don't think he's gonna make it.

When we arrive at Jessica's she is all ready waiting for us on the curb.  To Jessica one minute with Ean is like one year, she likes him so much I'm surprised Ean hasn't clued in and asked her out.

"Hey guy's...you ready?"  Says Jessica while giving us both hugs, although they didn't really work that well since we were in the car.

I didn't say anything because i know that Jessica would rather Ean answer than me, but he didn't.  I think that he has figured out that Jessica likes him and that has make him even more shy.  After more than a minute of awkward silence i decided to answer.

"As ready as I'll ever be."

I knew a soon as i opened my mouth that i should have let that awkward silence stay awkward.

I wouldn't have guessed but this is going to be the most unenjoyable, unexpected day of my life.

When we got to school Jessica quickly got out of the car and walked away with a scowl on her face.  I'm guessing she was trying to get away from me since she was probably mad that i didn't let Ean answer her question.  I don't know how that's gonna work out for her though since our lockers are beside each other, we take the same classes and we have assigned seats in the cafeteria which are of course beside each other.  Ean also quickly rushed off to football tryouts which strangely enough started as soon as the first bell rang.  It was also strange for Ean to rush.

When i got to my locker Jessica was there crying.

"He's never gonna like me, i just know it.  He probably likes you though, with your long blond hare and big blue eyes and perfect body shape.  He's always talked to you more anyways."  Sobbed Jessica, stopping to sniff every two words.

Jessica has always been a bit chubby and she is very self-conscience about it since i, her best friend, has always been slim and hour glass shaped.  She doesn't think that she is that pretty either, which is sad, because she is with her tanned skin and black hair and beautiful huge brown eyes.

"I'm sure he does like you...in a way."  I shouldn't have said that last part.

"Ya, in a way...like, just friends...forever way."

Great, I've just made her even more mad at me.

"Look, Jess, i didn't mean it like that.  I meant it like he's to shy to say it way."  Hopefully that helps.

"I know, I'm sorry."

Few, it did.

The bell rang and we realised that we were going to be late for our first class of the year, which is never a good thing to do when you have Mrs. Parker as your princable, especially since she is meaner to me than anybody else.  When we get to class we realise that it is English, which is taught by Mrs. Parker's sister Ms. Smith who kind of acts like Mrs. Parker's minion.

"Hello girls, your late,"  Says Ms. Smith with an expression on her face that says you'll be lucky if i don't tell Mrs. Parker.

"Sorry Ms. Smith."  We say in unison.

"Oh well, sit down and take out your books."  Says Ms. Smith with the same cranky tone she's had for the past two years.

Busking and blabbing

On Sunday (today is Thursday) i got back from camping in Antigonish.  It was really fun because each day (we stayed for two days and two nights) we went to the highland games.  The highland games is an event that concludes of heavy weight events, highland dancing competitions, tug-o-war and piping and drumming competitions.

I am going to busk with my friend Anna (i think i said that in a different post) this summer and this week and next week will be really good weeks because this week is the tall ships.  The tall ships is when a bunch of well "tall ships" come in and a bunch of things go on.  That wasn't the best explanation but i haven't been in a few years.  But you get the point this week will be a good week to busk because there will be a bunch of people in Halifax on the waterfront (which is the best place to busk).  Next week will be a even better week because next week is the buskers festival which means that a bunch of buskers will be out all around Halifax waterfront and a bunch of people will be out to see them and enjoy the music.

Since this is my first blog i am still getting used to it so sometimes i mess up messages in the posts.  For instance in my post Don't Play With Dolls just starts out with the beginning of my story instead of me telling you what it is.  That is because in the post after that ("Crappy" post #2) which was posted before Don't Play With Dolls said at the bottom that in my next post i would post some of my story (Don't Play With Dolls) but if you were reading it you would be confused and you would think that my post Songs, singing and sung would be my story but that is because i thought that my post "Crappy" post #2 would be before Don't Play With Dolls because it was posted first.  I hope you got the point because i don't want to write about that anymore.

The weather is so nice today, so i am going to see what temperature my pool is.  Maybe i will get a picture of it for you today (read Today and Tattoo) ;).

More today and Tattoo

Yay!  Today is another matinee (i know i said that in my last post but i just HAD to say it again).  Today is also my LAST SHOW! :) :(  I am REALLY happy it's (almost) over but i am also REALLY disappointed that it is over.  I am happy because i will finally have the days to chill and i wont have to worry about bedtimes ;) O_o  But i am disappointed because i will miss all of my new friends and i also haven't gotten any Swiss autographs which kinda sucks :(  There is a curtain guy (he runs the curtains, or in other words he tells us when to go on and off stage) and he is really nice so he is going to try and get the Swiss people to come out onto the floor (i explained what the floor is in the second last paragraph of my post Today and Tattoo).

There is this one Swiss guy who is REALLY hot! :D :P  We (me and Anna) think that he is only FOURTEEN!  We know/think he is the youngest in his troupe (Mels, see in Today and Tattoo) because 1. He is the shortest.  2. He was at the bowling party for Tattoo members (only for 16/18 and under, i can't really remember).  3. He looks the youngest.  We are hoping that when Tim (the curtain guy) asks for them (Mels/all Swiss) to come out onto the floor that he DEFINITELY will because we REALLY want to know his name, get his autograph and get a picture with him.

Today is a nice day!  Finally!  And when i say nice day i mean nice day, like nice enough to get in the pool nice!  I don't know what temperature it is now but when i got up it was twenty degrees on my deck.

Yesterday after i had my gymnastics workshop i had a two hour lunch break in between that and my show so i went out for lunch with Anna and my other Tattoo friend Lauryn at Halifax shopping centre.  It only took us about forty five minutes to order, get and eat our food so then we still had about an hour before we had to leave so Lauryn's mom (who obviously drove us there) gave her some money and then we went to look around.  The first store we went to was Ardenes (it was actually the only store we went to if you don't include Cinnabon) and we looked around for a bit then we say that they had there surprise bags on for five dollars for two bags, so we got four (actually first we got two but then we weren't satisfied with what we got so we got two more) i got nine pairs of earrings (i was the only one out of the three of us with there ears pierced so i had to take all of the earrings), two necklaces and two rings.  I don't remember what they got but i know they got a lot of headbands (i don't wear headbands so they got them all).  Then we went to Cinnabon and got a creamy Oreo shake/blizzard thing.  It was REALLY good.

Short but good...mabey?...not really :(

I just got back from Tattoo.  It was a matinee today!  It will also be a matinee tomorrow!

I had a gymnastics work shop this morning.  It was with Club Piruett, the Flying Grandpas and the Swiss people (Mels) were "supposed" to be there, but they never showed up.

I know this was a short post but i am tired.  I will post more tomorrow...promise! :)

Today and Tattoo

OMG!  It's finally a nice day!  Well a little bit.  This morning it was muggy and clouded over but now the sun is coming out!  I might actually be able to swim in my pool today.  It's only been two days since i've swam but i've started to really like swimming, in my pool anyways.  I was never really a fan of water, especially lakes and oceans, but this year swimming has really grown on me.  I have a fair sized pool.  It's about twelve feet across, three to four feet deep around the edges and four to five feet deep in the middle.  At some point i will post i picture of it so you know i am not lying.

I have Tattoo again today.  Another late show :(  The late shows are nice because i have the day to chill but they suck because i'm up every night till midnight.  The early shows were nice because i didn't have to be up till midnight every night but they sucked because they took the day away from me.  Including today's show i have three left.  At least it's only three not thirteen, but it still feels like so much.  I love getting autograph's, it may not sound fun but it is.  So for i have gotten autograph's from Germans, Estonians, French and some Canadians.  The Germans are gymnasts.  They call themselves The Flying Grandpas, they are really funny.  The Estonians are dancers and gymnasts.  They call themselves Club Piruett (that is the Estonian spelling), i've never seen them but they sound really good.  The French are also gymnasts.  But they are from the Paris Police so that is there name.  I've never seen them either but according to my parent's they are REALLY good!  There music is very dramatic as well.  Now i am going to tell you the names i got.

Canadians:  These two are vocal soloists.  Brenna Conrad and Peter Karrie.  This girl is a fiddler.  Kathleen Gorey-McSorley.  This lady is a pianist.  Carolyn Holyoke.  This guy marches with the pipes and drums, he is a Drum Major (i don't know what that is).  Colin Smith.

Estonians:  These people are from Club Piruett, they are all girls.  Mari, Pille, Elvu, Kareina, Trun.  None of them signed there last name (i don't blame them).

French:  These guys are from the Paris Police (that's what we call them) but in my book it says Groupe d'Intervention et de Protection. Christophe M. S., Jojo, Arno, David.  The first guy only signed the first letters of his middle and last name.

Germans:  These guys are from The Flying Grandpas of the Hamburg Police Force (i'm just reading my book to get there names and it turns out they are police O_o).  Jorg, Clark, Daniel, Arhe, Tohie.  I got four more i just can't read them.  There is also a German band that came.  They call themselves Heeresmusikkorps 1.

Some acts from Switzerland, England and the United States came too.  There is a Swiss band.  They call themselves Swiss Army Central band.  Pretty normal.  There are also two Swiss gymnast teams that came.  One of them is a VERY comedic troupe.  They call themselves D'Holmikers.  The other one is an extremely advanced and amazing troupe that call themselves Mels.  From England there is The Queen's Colour Squadron of the Royal Air Force.  If you didn't clue in from the name they are pretty much the queens personal army.  And from the US The Band of America's Few.  Which is obviously a band hence the name The Band of America's Few.

I want to get some autographs from the Swiss but they never come out onto the floor after the show.  If the floor thing confused you i will explain.  After every show all the acts are supposed to come out onto the main floor where everything happens so they can interact with the audience and sign peoples books, give out pins and other things like that.  But for some strange reason the Swiss never come onto the floor.

At some point i will get more autographs and i will post them.
